STG Vasanta Lakshmi, Ph.D is a Sanskrit scholar with a 38-year teaching experience. She started learning Sanskrit at the age of 11, completing her Sahitya Vidya Praveena, equivalent to MA Sanskrit, at 17. She then did her MA (1999) and Ph.D (2007) from Osmania university with a thesis on Saṁskr̥tālaṅkārikēṣu Rājānaka Ruyyakasya viśiṣṭaṁ sthānam. Vasanta Lakshmi has three published works of literature; Rasārṇavasudhākarasudhā – a monograph in Telugu on Rasārṇavasudhākara; Alaṅkārasarvasvam – Telugu translation and ‘varadārcanā’ commentary on Alaṅkārasarvasva of Rājānaka Ruyyaka; and Ekavīrā – sanskrit translation of Ekavīrā by Viśvanātha Satyanārāyaṇa. Her soon-to-be published work is the translation of Art Experience, by Professor M. Hiriyanna, into Telugu.
