Overview of the Conference:

Integrative medicine (IM) focuses on a person’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual facets to promote overall health and well-being. IM blends traditional medical and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies as a discipline. Over the years, there has been a substantial expansion in the field, paralleled by the growth in the evidence supporting its efficacy. Given the numerous benefits associated with IM, such as improved overall health and well-being, reduced symptoms of chronic diseases, increased quality of life, reduced side effects of conventional treatments, and increased patient satisfaction, IM’s popularity has also grown.

The International Yoga and Integrative Medicine Conference will be held in San Francisco, USA, from November 3–5, 2023. The conference will be hosted by the University of Silicon Andhra, California, USA, with its technical partner, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana, Bengaluru, India. The conference will bring together eminent academicians, recognized researchers from prestigious universities, researchers, practitioners, and doctorate students. A simulation on “Growing synergies between Yoga and other components of Integrative medicine will be created with the best brains across the globe to discuss the impact of Yoga and integrative medicine (IM) on the global health sector. There will also be discussions on the cutting-edge procedures used in the revolutionary field of IM to revolutionize healthcare.

Objectives

• To disseminate the research findings in the field of integrative medicine and give directions to future research
• To translate the available research findings of CAM therapy into clinical practice 
• To establish working groups comprising universities, health care providers and policy makers to initiate collaborative research programs
• To deliver cost effective IM-based care
• To have discussions on reforms in policies related to integrated health care system

S-VYASA Deemed to be University

S-VAYSA is Deemed to be University recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India. The institution was formally registered as a research based charitable organization called Vivekananda Kendra Cikitsa Tatha Anusandhana Samiti the year 1981 with the objective of scientifically evaluating the therapeutic benefits of yoga and its’ applications. Following the path breaking work in evaluating the therapeutic use of yoga in the management of bronchial asthma in 1985, the Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (Research Foundation) was recognized as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization [SIRO] from the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India in the year 1988. The scientific accomplishments thereafter and the disciplined education based on the science and philosophy of yoga resulted in receiving University affiliations leading to a doctoral level program in yoga through Bangalore University, Mangalore University, Mysore University and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. In the year 2002, Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana (S-VYASA) was recognized as a Deemed-to-be University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, through the University Grants Commission. S-VYASA has published more than 1000 research papers in national and international journals. Also S-VYASA is equipped with a 400 bedded Integrative Medicine hospital.

The City of Milipitas located in the heart of the Silicon Valley is the hub of technological innovation and is populated by a diverse demongraphic groups of peoples. Milpitas is originally the land of the Ohlone people. The city of Miliptas in its modern form was founded in 1954 and has experienced rapid growth during the recent times, and has becaoe a major technology center. Milpitas is located 15 minutes drive from the San Jose, CA international airport and approximately 50 minutes drive from the San Francisco International Airport.

 

Dr. David Frawley, D.Litt., (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri)                     American Institute of Vedic Studies 

Dr. David Frawley, also known as Pandit Vamadeva Shastri (born 1950), is a Hindutva supporter, author, astrologer, and teacher. He is an American citizen and was born in Wisconsin. In 2015, the Indian government awarded him the Padma Bhushan, the third-highest civilian decoration in India. Numerous works

that he has written include topics like Hinduism, Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology. The general public enjoys his works of art. At the Universities of California, Berkeley and Chicago, he studied Sanskrit and Indian philosophy. He has also studied Western herbology and Chinese herbal medicine. He has written a lot of books on subjects including Hinduism, Yoga, Ayurveda, and Vedic astrology. His creations are well-liked by the general populace.

 

Dr. Lorenzo Cohen
Director – Integrative Medicine Center 
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, USA 

Dr. Lorenzo Cohen is a professor in the Department of General Oncology and Behavioral Science and the director of the Integrative Medicine Program at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is also a distinguished clinical professor at the Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center in Shanghai, China. Dr. Cohen received his undergraduate degree from Reed College in Portland, Oregon and his Master’s and Ph.D. from The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Cohen is a founding member and past president of the Society for Integrative Oncology. He is also a member of the American Association for Cancer Research, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the National Cancer Institute’s Board of Scientific Advisors. Dr. Cohen is a passionate advocate for integrative medicine. He believes that conventional medicine and CAM can work together to provide patients with the best possible care. He is committed to educating patients and healthcare professionals about the benefits of integrative medicine. Dr. Cohen is a leading figure in the field of integrative medicine and his research focuses on the role of lifestyle factors in cancer prevention and survivorship. He has conducted numerous studies examining the effects of stress, diet, exercise, and complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) on cancer outcomes.

Dr. Cohen is a widely published author and speaker. He has authored over 175 scientific articles in top medical journals, and he has edited two books on integrative medicine for cancer care. He is also a co-author of the book Anticancer Living: Transform Your Life and Health..

 

Dr. H R Nagendra, PhD, DSc

Dr H. R. Nagendra is a mechanical engineer, Yoga therapist, academic, writer, Founder and Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandana Samasthana (S-VYASA), deemed to be a university located in Bengaluru. He is best known as the personal yoga consultant of Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India and is a recipient of the Yoga Shri title from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He has
authored 35 books and over 200 research papers on Yoga. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour; the Padma Shri, in 2016, for his contributions to society. He is the pioneer of cyclic meditation (CM), a yoga technique where the practitioners perform slow conscious physical movements.

 

Dr. Indranil Basu Ray, MD, DNB, DSc, FACP, FACC

Dr. Indranil Basu Ray is a cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist at the University of Memphis. Dr. Basu Ray is a leading expert in the field of cardiac electrophysiology, and his research has focused on the development of new treatments for heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Basu Ray is also a valuable asset to the University of Memphis and the community. He is a talented physician and researcher who is making a difference in the lives of people with heart disease. He has authored numerous scientific papers and has been invited to speak at conferences around the world.
