Certificate in Bharatanatyam Dance
The main objective of the Certificate Program is to initiate students to the sublime art form, the Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam. This program will cover the fundamentals of dance, both in theoretical and practical ways, that create and develop awareness and appreciation for the Bharatanatyam dance form.

Requirements :
Duration: One Year (2 semesters per year)
Required Hours: 135 Hours
Required Units: Total of 3 courses
This program does not require internship or externship. The educational programs offered does not lead to a profession, occupation, trade, or career field requiring licensure in this state.
General Admission Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Practical dance experience of atleast 2 years, which will be determined by University Faculty screening or assessment.

Program Curriculum:
Courses:
- CBN 101: Introduction to Indian Dance Treatises in the context of Bharatanatyam (Unit Value - 3 credit units)
- CBN 102: Practical Dance (Unit Value - 3 credit units)
- CBN 201: The Evolution and Various Forms of Indian Classical Dance (Unit Value - 3 credit units)
A student enrolled in the certificate program is evaluated using the following methods/metrics:
-Final exam at the end of each course
-Mid Term exam in the middle of a course
-Assignments
-Quizzes
Students will be awarded a Certificate in Bharatanatyam on their successful completion of all the required courses, with an overall combined GPA of 2.0, based on the evaluation weightages across the various methods/metrics.

Estimated Program Costs: $3,000.00 including Tuition ($2,700.00), Application Fee, Books, Registration Fees, etc.
