REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Assistant Professor will report to the Program Chair.

 

JOB PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applicants must demonstrate a high potential for excellence in research and teaching. Successful candidates will develop and maintain an internationally-recognized research program and are expected to effectively supervise students, collaborate with other faculty members, obtain external funding, teach required and concentration courses in computer science.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Preference will be given to the candidates with an earned doctorate relevant to computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field. However, the candidates who have completed their doctoral work except the Ph.D. dissertation, and are less than one term away from completing their Ph.D. dissertation will be considered. In addition, an understanding of and commitment to support the mission of University of Silicon Andhra are required. The applicant should possess teaching experience in computer science. The successful candidate must be able to offer their reflections on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and discuss how they would engage with and enhance department’s and UofSA’s efforts in this area.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

·                 Experience in developing external partnerships to promote research and education, and facilitating continued improvement of the reputation and funding for the department

·                 Ability to teach courses in Computational Linguistics with reference to Indian/South Asian languages, machine learning, natural language processing

·                 Knowledge of ABET/WSCUC accreditation standards, procedures, and program review and assessment procedures

·                 Experience in higher education innovation

·                 Superior communication skills, especially the ability to be an articulate advocate for UofSA to all audiences

·                 Research and publications record

·                 Commitment to life-long learning.
