Dr.Gaddam Mohan Rao is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Telugu at Telangana Mahila Vishwavidyalayam, Koti, Hyderabad. He has a teaching experience of 13 years. He did his post-graduation in M.A (Telugu) and M.Phil (Telugu) ‘Chindu Bhagavatam – vastuvu, pradarshana reetula adhyayanam’ under the supervision of Prof. Gadla Aruna Kumari, University of Hyderabad. Mohan Rao completed his Ph.D at Osmania University, Hyderabad ‘Chindu kalakarula jeevana chitranam- sahityanusheelanam’ under the supervision of Prof. Tangeda Kishen Rao former Vice Chancellor, Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Hyderabad. Dr.Mohan Rao came from a rural and Chindu Bhagavatam artist family. He is a short story writer and novelist his specialisation is folk literature. Mohan Rao is a Government textbook writer and has published 4 books as an editor. Wrote 3 biographies ‘Chindu Yellamma’ (well-known Sindhu artist of Telangana ), ‘Chindula Hansa’ (Chindu yakshagana artist Padmashree Gaddam Sammaiah biography), ‘Nenu Chindeste’ (Chindu Shyam biography.) Mohan Rao wrote 3 novels: Kongavalu Kathi, Athadu Abraham, Gorukoyyalu, and one short story book, Engili Poolu, and 2 literary criticism books, Dontara & Koppera. He participated in and presented several research papers in National and International workshops and seminars. Mohan Rao’s research is focused on folklore and folk literature along with Telugu literature. He served as a selection committee member of Telangana Samskrithika Sarathi, Sangeet Natak Academy Department of Language and Culture, Government of Telangana.
