Course Aim
This comprehensive 15-week course, offering 90-minute sessions each week, is designed to introduce artists and art enthusiasts to Mime Arts. Mime is the basis on which all other art forms are created. That is why it is called as the Mother of all art forms that is mainly rooted in the physical expression and nonverbal communication. Mime plays a crucial role in developing and enhancing an actor or dancer’s ability to convey emotion, ideas and stories through the intricate body grammar. Whether acting on stage or in front of the camera, this course offers the chance for every artist to upscale their career as professional artists. This course will help participants gain a strong foundation to establish themselves as professional artists in mainstream art scape.
Course Objectives
- This course is of immense importance to those who want to deepen their mime skills, enhance their performances and build a career as a professional Mime artist.
- Helps those who are beginners, enthusiasts and established dancers to fine tune their Abhinaya, gestures and postures through the art of Mime.
- Is of immense use to those performers who are interested in pursuing acting career in Drama and theatre and cinema and in Television to elevate their skills in professional level.

Certificate: Students will receive certificate of completion. Students enrolled in “For CREDIT’ will also receive TRANSCRIPT.

Week 1: History and Evolution of Mime. Body Alignment. techniques and Mime basics (Anga,Upanga and Prathupanga)
Week 2: Yoga and Kalarippayattu techniques for Body opening.
Week 3: Premise work (crosses, Premise, Priming and Bending) Animal Movements.
Week 4: Isolation Exercises and Illusions
Week 5: Pointing Exercises, Walking styles
Week 6: Character work
Week 7: Character work
Week 8: Character work
Week 9: Eye Exercises with Sathvikabhinaya.
Week 10: Navarasa sadhana
Week 11: Narasara sadhana
Week 12: Improvisation.
Week 13: Improvisation (creating sketches and performance techniques)
Week 14: Performance techniques with costume and makeup
Week 15: Finale of the course. Presentation of all Mime

Arusam Madhusudhan (Mime Madhu)
Adjunct Professor
Arusam Madhusudan, affectionately known as Mime Madhu is an internationally renowned Mime artist who has been learning and mastering the art form since 35 years and created his own unique niche. He travelled for Mime performances and conducting mime workshops throughout India and world and won many accolades for his exceptional artistry in the field of mime.. they include Ustad Bismillah Khan award from Sangeet Natak Academy, Nandi Award etc and has also been a recipient to several scholarships. He has received the title of ‘Mukhabhinaya Samrat’ from the world-renowned mimicry artist Sri Nerella Venumadhav. He is the founder of Indian Mime Academy through which he relentlessly and tirelessly continues to teach and promote the art of mime.
