Course Aim
This course aims to introduce beginners to the fundamental principles and practices of acting, helping both aspiring actors and non-actors to gain a deeper understanding of performance, self-expression, and creativity. Through hands-on exercises, you will explore the essential techniques an actor uses to prepare physically, vocally, and emotionally for performances. You will learn the vocabulary and tools necessary for script analysis, character development, and authentically living truthfully under imaginary circumstances. By exploring into the core aspects of acting, you will establish a solid foundation for personal and professional growth.
Course Objectives
- To provide students with the basic tools and techniques of acting, focusing on body, voice, and imagination.
- To help students develop confidence, emotional truth, and spontaneity in their performances.
- To explore the practical applications of acting both for the stage and on screen, enhancing performance skills that can be applied in personal and professional contexts.
- To prepare students for real-world performance settings, including auditions and performances.

By the end of the course, students will be able to
- Understand and apply fundamental acting techniques, including improvisation, character creation, action, objective, given circumstances, and script analysis.
- Develop body and voice as instruments for expressing emotion, intent, and character.
- Perform short scenes and monologues with confidence, authenticity, and emotional depth.
- Understand the basic differences between acting for stage and screen, adapting their performances accordingly.
- Be prepared to manage the audition process and approach acting professionally with a clear understanding of industry expectations.

Week 9 : Scene Study – Part 1
Week 10 : Scene Study – Part 2
Week 11 : Acting for the Camera vs. Stage
Week 12 : Monologues: Speaking from the Heart
Week 13 : Building Confidence and Overcoming Stage Fright
Week 14 : Introduction to Industry and Audition Techniques
Week 15 : Final Performance and Reflection.

Certificate: Students will receive certificate of completion. Students enrolled in “For CREDIT’ will also receive TRANSCRIPT.
